I write my heart out trying to convey information about better home planning and building. I word everything for easy understanding, boiling down topics to their very essence so they’ll be interesting, informative and educational. But not enough people read what I write. I can’t cut through the clutter of rude, crude, often downright nasty distractions which offer dirty fun without the threat of learning.
I already know I can’t compete in a world mired in filthy habits and with a total dedication of attention to all things vulgar. So, I’m thinking about changing tactics. What if I write a series of stories about home planning and building, and wrap them in a veil of vulgarity, would anyone read them?
The series title will be “Better Home Design Through Sex, Drugs, Alcohol, Lies, Explosions, Mayhem, Murder, Violence, and Voyeurism; also Lewd Behavior and Playing with Your Food, …but Almost No Porn Because This Is Serious.” It’s a collection of short stories featuring a detective who solves crimes of residentially-related passion and murder. Titles include: Death By Decor, Dormer Death, and Showered With Disaffection.
This is for real. If I write it, will you read it?
